PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for deriving signal line characteristics of an optical line capable of deriving signal line characteristics of each signal line, even without storing signal line characteristics over the full length of each of multiple signal lines.;SOLUTION: The system for deriving signal line characteristics of an optical line includes: a signal line specification unit for specifying a signal line of which signal line characteristics are to be derived; a signal line characteristics database for storing signal line characteristics of a predetermined representative optical core wire, among multiple optical core wires existing in each of multiple sections obtained by dividing the optical line; a section database for storing combination of sections each corresponding to each of the multiple signal lines; and a composition unit for extracting, from the section database, combined sections forming the signal line specified by the signal line specification unit, and extracting, from the signal line characteristics database, and combining signal line characteristics of each of the extracted sections.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT
