PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte battery maintaining excellent output characteristics, specifically even in a low SOC region and even in-long term use, in addition to high energy density and safety.SOLUTION: A positive electrode for a nonaqueous electrolyte battery contains: a first active material having an -NaFeOtype crystal structure and comprising a lithium transition metal composite oxide represented by composition formula: LiMeO(where, Me represents a transition metal element including Co, Ni and Mn, and 0 is satisfied); and a second active material having a discharge potential region baser than that of the first active material, and comprising a phosphoric acid transition metal lithium compound. The second active material has a crystallite diameter as determined by X-ray diffraction measurement of 0.2 m or less, and a ratio of the mass of the second active material relative to the sum of the mass of the first active material and the mass of the second active material is less than 20%.
