PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a book storage and management device capable of making accurately and stably communicate with a wireless tag attached to all books stored in a container, which can be suitably used for the management of the books in an automatic book storage and retrieval system.;SOLUTION: The book storage and management device includes: a plurality of containers (12) for accommodating a plurality of books (13) to each of which the wireless tag (35) is attached; a library (11) for accommodating the plurality of containers (12); a conveyance means (59) for conveying the containers (12) between the library (11) and stations (23, 25 and 26) for the storage and retrieval of the books (13) for the containers (12); and a communication means (45) disposed in a conveyance path of the conveyance means (59) that communicates with the wireless tag (35) attached to each of the books (13) in each of the containers (12), with an antenna (76a) directly opposed to the bottom face of each of the containers (12).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
