PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shopping omission prevention device and method which, when a user has forgotten the purchase of an article scheduled to purchase, notify that there is an article not yet purchased.;SOLUTION: A shopping omission prevention device comprises: a position information reception unit for receiving the information about a position; a storage unit for storing the information about a shop in which an article is scheduled to be purchased and the information about the article scheduled to be purchased; and a control unit for determining whether or not the current position is within a specific range indicated by the information about the shop on the basis of the position information received by the position information reception unit and for accepting a registration of a purchased article and storing the registration in the storage unit.
