Control method for an engine-driven inverter power generator, and engine-driven type inverter generator

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine-driven inverter generator that singly accommodates a wide range from a light load to a heavy load with fuel economy.;SOLUTION: A generator 1 includes: input means 7 for inputting various settings and operational instructions for the generator; means for detecting a load side change; and a controller 8 for controlling the speed of an engine 21 on the basis of the input from the input means 7 and the detected load status. The input means 7 includes connected load setting means 74 for setting a size of load connected to the generator 1. The controller 8 is configured to execute, after starting the engine 21, a load startup mode of controlling the speed of the engine 21 at least to a load startup speed depending on the size of load set through the connected load setting means 74 in preparation for a load startup.
