The present invention relates to sintered shaped abrasive grains on basis of aluminum oxide comprising mineralogical phases consisting of mullite, tialite and/or armalcolite, and baddeleyite and/or srilankite as well as a method for producing the same by using alumina, ilmenite and zircon sand as raw materials.
