The present invention relates to a Lactuca sativa seed designated 79-619 RZ, which may exhibit a combination of traits including resistance to downy mildew (Bremia lactucae) races B1:1 to B1:31 and Ca-I to Ca-VIII, resistance to currant-lettuce aphid (Nasonovia ribisnigri), as well as an extraordinary high number of substantially equally sized red colored leaves, which are moderately blistered and have a slightly undulated apical leaf margin. The present invention also relates to a Lactuca sativa plant produced by growing the 79-619 RZ seed. The invention further relates to methods for producing the lettuce cultivar, represented by lettuce variety 79-619 RZ.
