A crop processor for a harvester is described, wherein the crop processor consists of the following: a housing having an inlet and an outlet; a pair of crop processing rollers disposed within the housing, the crop processing rollers being made of metal, placed parallel to each other with a gap between them, and the crop processor being configured to, in use, receive a stream of harvested crop received through the inlet, by conveying the gap to the outlet; wherein each of the crop processing rollers includes a plurality of teeth disposed along a circumference of the crop processing rollers, the teeth having a height in a radial direction and a length extending in an axial direction of the crop processing rollers, and wherein the teeth of the crop processing rollers rolls are made to contain a substantially flat top surface of a predetermined width.
