The present invention relates to a method for making a coated container device comprising the steps of: selecting a metal substrate; selecting one or more aqueous dispersions comprising; one or more base polymers, said base polymers comprising one or more polyolefins; one or more stabilizing agents; one or more crosslinking agents; and water; applying said one or more aqueous dispersions to at least one surface of said metal substrate; removing at least a portion of the water from said one or more aqueous dispersions; thereby forming one or more crosslinked coating layers associated with said metal substrate; and forming said coated metal substrate into a coated container device.
