The present invention relates to a particulate water soluble polymeric polyol that is treated with a compound represented by formula (I) CR(OR) (I) wherein Ris selected from hydrogen a C C alkyl group and an aryl group Ris independently at each occurence selected from a C C alkyl group and an aryl group and x is selected from the integer 0 and 1; or with a combination of said compounds to a method for treating a particulate water soluble polymeric polyol with the above compound and to a method for the preparation of an aqueous solution of the treated particulate water soluble polymeric polyol.
