LEFT/RIGHT REARVIEW DEVICE FOR A VEHICLE

The present invention relates to a left/right rearview device for a vehicle that can simply and conveniently replace the left/right rearview mirrors on a vehicle, and more particularly, to a left/right rearview device for a vehicle that is fixed to the front corners of the windows on the front doors of a vehicle, and through modern electronic technology, can maximally secure a viewing angle while simply and conveniently replacing existing left/right rearview mirrors on a vehicle, wherein the left/right rearview device comprises a body installed on the front portions of the left and right front doors of a vehicle and including a built-in: camera for capturing the left and right side and rear view images from a vehicle; monitor for displaying the captured images; and controller for enabling the images captured by the camera to be displayed on the monitor. According to the present invention, as the field of view of a driver can be maximally expanded by moving the camera (14) forward/rearward, left/right, and up/down and adjusting the monitor (12), the exterior surroundings of a vehicle can be viewed with a broader field of view in terms of the left and right sides and the rear of the vehicle than with a conventional rearview mirror, thus significantly improving vehicle safety. Also, unlike alternative devices for rearview mirrors that have been proposed in the prior art, as all the components are provided in a single preassembled, integrated device, the installation of the device is simplified, maintenance and repair is rendered convenient, and manufacturing efficiency is maximized due to improved assemblability and yield in the manufacturing process. Further, as opposed to devices of the prior art, since the camera, monitor, and other components are not separately disposed, wires and other unneeded materials are not required, and components can be made simpler, smaller, and easier to assemble, thereby significantly reducing product costs.
