A method for producing refined sugar and/or invert sugar from the crushed sugar cane raw material comprising the following steps, a. filtering sugar cane juice preferably using 2mm filter, the filtrated further filtered through preferably 0.5mm filter, preferably stainless steel screens. b. the filtrate obtained at para (a) is treated and mixed thorougly with polyelectrolyte/ flocculent, for solid liquid separation up to 0.01- 0.5% preferably 0.03% along with bleaching earth preferably washed clay in the range 0.01-1% preferably 0.1% and then allowed to settle preferably 15 minutes. c. the mixed juice is again filtered through Alteration system preferably 2,00 micron stainless steel screen, followed with filtration system preferably using 100 micron, then 50 micron and then through 10 microns filter. Then the filtrate is passed through a microfilteration systems with a starting range of 0.2 micron to 1 micron, preferably 0.8 micron filter. d. again the filtrate passed through an uftra filtration system having the pore size range of 1000 Dalton to 50,000 Dalton which preferably could be selected between 20000 Dalton to 30000 Dalton. e. the clear juice obtained above is then passed through a chromatographic adsorbent Resin Bed Column for removal of colour pigments, f. the clear sugar solution obtained at step (e), is passed through a traditional anion-cation resin bed column for de-ashing of the sugar solution, g. Solution obtained at step (f) further allowed to crystallization step to get refined sugar. h. If required the clear solution at step (f) is passed through a chromatographic resin bed column to break down the sucrose to glucose and fructose, which on concentration by heating under vacumn, produces invert sugar.
