RECOVERY OF BELLY LANDED FIGHTER AIRCRAFT

This invention relates to the process of recovery of a Jaguar aircraft which was belly landed due to engine failure. Base plate comprises of honeycomb core, spars, top and bottom skin which supports frames 10 to 30(center fuselage). Highly damaged base plate is removed and replaced with a new one. The process involves NDT checks on all the frames and necessary structural rework involving suitable stiffeners and reinforcing plates on affected frames. Cross beam taking much of the load is also replaced. The rework suggested taken care of the structural integrity of the original aircraft. Necessary approvals taken from regulating authorities to make the aircraft airworthy. The aircraft was flown and found satisfactory.
