MANUFACTURING OF LIGHT COMBAT HELICOPAT ER TRANSPARENCIES BY CONTACT FORMING METHOD.

ABSTRACT Aircraft Division has taken up the production of LCH Cabin Windows, comprising of eleven Transparencies ,out of which; 1. 10 Transparencies made out of stretched acrylic sheets. 2. one Transparency is made out of Cast acrylic sheet Furth er, this is the first time in Helicopter production stretched acrylic sheets are being used. HAL has designed, developed the glass formin g tools for the LCH project including the process, required to form the above transparencies. The results have come out successfully for TD3 Helicopter with regards to forming of Stretched acrylic Rimming, drilling and finally assembled and successfully flown.
