The present invention provides for a chimeric gene scFv and process for preparing the same. The chimeric gene scFv includes a gene sequence encoding for VH domain of antibody produced against Fumonisin B1 (FB1) comprising a region as set forth in SEQ ID NO. 1, a gene sequence encoding for VL domain of antibody produced against Fumonisin B1 comprising a region as set forth in SEQ ID NO. 2, and a flexible and hydrophobic glycine linker connecting the gene sequences encoding for VH and VL domains of antibody produced against Fumonisin B1. The present invention also provides for an anti-FB1-scFv antibody expressed by the said chimeric gene scFv and a process of preparing the antibody from the chimeric gene scFv. The present invention further provides for a quick and cost effective dot-ELISA method for identification of Fumonisin B1 in a sample by using the anti-FB1-scFv antibody. Figure 2
