The present disclosure relates to a mounting device for mounting of audio speaker(s) in vehicles and a mechanism of a mounting device for mounting audio speaker(s) onto the body panel of a vehicle. The said mounting device comprises an engaging plate having a first engaging member disposed on a first side of the engaging plate. The first engaging member has a longitudinal threaded groove. The said mounting device further comprises a second engaging member disposed on a second side of the engaging plate; the said second engaging member having opposite locking ribs. The second engaging member is provided with a channel to drain away the water intruding between the speaker body and the vibration plate from the speaker body. [Fig 4]
