[Problem] To provide a chromatography media that can be used under conditions advantageous to scale-up purification and can freely adjust separation characteristics, and a method for purifying virus-like particles (VLPs) of hepatitis B virus (HBV). [Solution] Porous cellulose particles having amino group-containing ion-exchange groups and butyl group-containing hydrophobic groups, in which the porous cellulose particles in the range of 1 mg/g to 10 mg/g in a nitrogen atom content in porous cellulose particles is used as a chromatography media.
