A process for degradation of a cellulosic or ligno-cellulosic substrate is disclosed. The process comprises contacting said substrate with one or more of the following enzymes: endoglucanase family 5 (GH 5) of Paenibacillus sp. ICGEB2008, cellobiose hydrolase family 6 (GH 6) of Streptomyces sp. M23, the family glycosylase 1 (GH 1) Thermobispora bispora. A nucleotide sequence comprising the sequence SEQ. ID n.1 or SEQ.ID n.2 or SEQ.ID n.3 and a amino acid sequence encoded thereby is also disclosed. Also disclosed is a method for the processing of the tissue, for obtaining glucose through saccharification.
