AN ENHANCED VISIBLE LIGHT MEDIATED PHOTOCATALYTIC PROCESS FOR SIMULTANEOUS REDUCTION AND OXIDATION OF CATIONS AND ANIONS

摘要

The present invention provides an enhanced visible light mediated photocatalytic process for simultaneous reduction and oxidation of cations and anions for the removal of organic and inorganic contaminants from waste water. Used catalyst can be reused several times after acid wash. The efficiency of the said process is pH dependent and can work in the range of 1 to 8 depending on the type of contaminants. The present process can be used directly under solar light for the treatment of metal industry effluents containing both toxic metal ions and organic chemicals ions in the range of 10-1000ppm in single or multiple batches process.
