The present invention relates to the use of ferroquine, its N-demethylated metabolite, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, in the treatment and/or prevention of infections caused by a parasite of the genus Plasmodium, the life cycle of which includes a hepatic lag phase in the human host.
