The invention relates to a method for producing structural synthetic fibres for concrete and mortar, and to the synthetic fibre produced, especially a polyolefin-based synthetic fibre, for using in concrete and mortar with a hydraulic binder as a cementing base, for increasing the modulus of elasticity thereof, comprising mixing polyolefin and additives, thread formation, a first stretching process, an alternative heating-cooling series, the collection of the threads into coils and the stabilisation of the polymerisation/cross-linking for two days to a week; the threads are subsequently subjected to at least one restretching phase, including the heating-cooling processes and subsequent stabilisation if successive restretching processes are to be carried out; and lastly there is a phase of surface etching and thread-cutting.
