The invention relates to a method for protecting a raamdorpelv, comprising the step of covering the window sill. The method is characterized in that the cover takes place with a device comprising a cover plate which extends substantially in a first plane and which comprises a longitudinal edge extending in a longitudinal direction, wherein the cover plate adjacent the longitudinal edge in the longitudinal direction situated bending line along which a part of the cover plate is bent to form a clamping edge, and wherein the method comprises the step of placing it against a bottom side of a frame of the bent clamping edge of the cover plate. The invention also relates to a device for use in the method.
