A process for preparing C1-C10-aldehydes by oxidative dehydrogenation of C1-C10-alcohols over a shaped catalyst body obtainable by three-dimensional forming and/or arrangement in the space of silver-containing fibres and/or filaments, characterized in that the mean diameter or the mean diagonal length of an essentially rectangular or square cross section of these silver-containing fibres and/or filaments is in the range from 30 µm to 200 µm.
