Method of separation of platinum from solutions extracted from solid materials with a developed surface, containing trace amounts of noble metals, by selective sorbent based on impregnated acrylic polymers in the form of a methacrylic acid ester or a hydrophilic styrene polymer with divinylbenzene, is characterised by the use as an impregnating agent of alkylphosphine sulphates containing donor sulphur atoms capable of selective binding of platinum chloride complexes(IV),Triisobutylphosphine sulphate or trioctylphosphine sulphate, the platinum complex being separated in a second order after the palladium complex has been separated by a known selective sorbent based on otherwise impregnated acrylic polymers.
