The mode of interaction with virtual objects in three-dimensional space by gestures in which virtual objects generated in a computing unit (110) equipped with a processor (111) and memory (112) and display on a display attached to the computing unit (120),processing the images in response to the user's hand gestures and the position of the user's head taken by the camera (130) to measure the depth with an accelerometer (131) attached to the calculation unit (110)and directed to the stage in the real world embracing the head and hands of the user sitting at the counter. The following steps are taken in the calculation unit (110): a signal representing a series of depth maps is taken from the camera (130)in the form of a battle map, for an empty area, and the average depth map recorded in memory (112) shall be calculated;the position of the edge of the mud in the median depth map shall be determined; the depth coordinates shall be transformed from the camera view to the coordinates where the centre of the coordinate system has previously determined the mean point of the edge of the mud; the signal representing the current depth map shall be taken in the form of a battle map; a different depth map representing the difference between the current depth map and the median depth map shall be calculated; the depth map shall specify the position of the user's head; the depth map shall specify the position of at least one user's hand;displays on the display (120) a virtual object in the position specified by the current position of the user's head and manipulates the virtual object in response to gestures made by the user's hand.
