The panel (1) comprises a base panel (2) and laminate coating (3). Immediately underneath the coating, on a side edge, a chamfer is machined from the base panel. Adhesive is applied to the chamfer and/or coating above it. The coating and chamfer are adhered together. This forms a beveled, coated edge of the panel. Various jointing profiles may be produced using these principles. An independent claim is included for the corresponding panel.
