The invention relates to a method and an equipment for determining, in dynamic regime, the resistance to penetration and the settlement level of the agricultural soils. According to the invention, the equipment consists of a conical penetration device () made of hardened steel, having the apical angle equal to 35°, an apical curvature radius of 2 mm, and a height of 100 mm, a dynamometric cell (), with electro-resistive sensors, a contact element () made of steel, a steel frame (), a circular air-bubble level (), a cylindrical launching tube () provided with a guide channel (), a cylindrical hitting hammer (), provided with a lifting handle (), a central electronic unit () provided with a microprocessor, a system for processing, storing and displaying data as well as a GPS unit (). As claimed by the invention, the method consists in expressing the soil resistance to penetration by the value of the reaction force () thereof, electronically measured at the fifth hit performed on a penetration device and determining the level () of the soil settlement from the value of the ratio between the reaction force () measured at the fifth hit and the reaction force () measured at the first hit and the reaction force () measured at the fifth hit according to the relation (), the result being a subunitary and dimensionless number: G=F-F/F().
