A HERBAL MOUTHWASH FROM LEMONGRASS (CYMBOPOGON CITRATUS) OIL EXTRACT

This utility model relates to a formulation of making an herbal mouthwash solution using effective amounts of lemongrass(cymbopogon citratus) oil extract(2.6 pcnt by weight), distilled water(82.8 pcnt ), glycerine(10.2 pcnt by weight), honey(1.4 pcnt by weight), polysorbate 80(1.8 pcnt by weight), peppermint oil (0.9 pcnt by weight)and sodium benzoate(0.3 pcnt by weight) comprising the steps of gathering fresh lemongrass(cymbopogon citratus) stalks, sorting of collected stalks from other foreign particles, washing of the sorted stalks to remove dirt that may contaminate the product, airdrying the washed and cleaned lemongrass stalks, chopping the lemongrass stalks into fine pieces, adding distilled water to the chopped lemongrass stalks, extracting lemongrass oil through boiling and distillation process, mixing the extracted lemongrass oil with distilled water, glycerine, honey, peppermint oil, polysorbate 80 and sodium benzoate, heating the mixed solution at about 60oC, cooling the mixed solution by adding distilled water, pouring the solution into sterilized wide-mouth bottles and sealing the bottles.
