Nanostructured catalysts cerium oxide or oxide combination cerium with another metal oxide deposited on substrates containing magnesium oxide. # These catalysts are more efficient in term of activity per atom of cerium, and more stable in the redox response against high temperature heat treatment, the catalysts based on oxidic mass formulations. The invention is part of catalytic processes in which it is important that the catalyst has a good ability to store oxygen, such as the purification of exhaust gases in combustion engines, removal of soot in diesel engines or oxidation catalyst of organic compounds in wastewater. Furthermore, these materials are suitable as carriers of metals to catalyze a host of reactions, such as reactions dry (or steam) reforming hydrocarbons to produce hydrogen.
