Electric power production system comprising: a first wind farm (42) comprising a plurality of wind turbines (10); an energy storage device (50-52) configured to service a first energy storage application in the first wind farm; and a monitoring controller (60) configured to determine whether an attribute of the energy storage device is less than or equal to a threshold for the first energy storage application and to program the energy storage device (50-52) to a second energy storage application in the first wind farm or in a second wind farm (44) different from the first wind farm, in which the energy storage device is a battery, and the attribute is battery capacity.
