A device (60) of treating incontinence comprising: a band (62) having a length extending between a first end (66) and a second end (68); a first magnet (32) connected to a first end portion (66) of the band (62) and a second magnet (34) connected to a second end portion (68) of the band (62), the band ( 62) implantable around a urethra and being configured to constrict a lumen of the urethra when the first magnet (32) is coupled to the second magnet (34); a power supply (30) electrically coupled to the first and second magnets (32, 34) and configured to engage and disengage the first electromagnetically magnet (32) relative to the second magnet (34); a protective device intended to position the first magnet (32) in alignment with the second magnet (34) when the first magnet (32) is disengaged from the second magnet (34); characterized in that the protective device comprises a rod (122) connected to the first (66) and second (68) end portions of the band (62) and extending therebetween.
