Stem cells derived from the olfactory epithelium and procedures for its use

In vitro method for producing a recombinant dopaminergic neuron, the method comprising: (a) providing stem cells derived from adult olfactory epithelium; and (b) introducing one or more transgenes into stem cells derived from adult olfactory epithelium, wherein said one or more transgenes encode a combination of a nurr-1 polypeptide and a pitx3 polypeptide; whereby a recombinant dopaminergic neuron is produced.
