Pollutants are removed from contaminated water using electrically active metalplates. Water iscontinuously pumped into one end of a vessel containing metal plates throughwhich an electriccurrent is passed, generating metal ions and gas bubbles. The metal ionscapture the pollutantsand the gas bubbles float them to the surface. The treated and cleaned waterflows out the otherend and the floated pollutants are removed. The water passing through thevessel alwaysreceives the preset electric charge dose, ensuring reproducible results andresulting in operationsimilar to a membrane filter or a chemical free dissolved air flotationsystem.
