KEYBOARD-LESS ENTRY OF USERNAME AND PASSWORD INTO MOBILE DEVICE AND APPLICATIONS USING UNIQUELY GENERATED URL-LESS QUICK RESPONSE (QR) CODES

The present invention is a method of convenient and efficient authenticationwithout the need of avirtual or physical keyboard using URL-less Uniquely Generated Quick ResponseCodes. It is alsoa safer method than carrying a written username and password for clients whohave difficulty withremembering their authentication information. Since it does not contain anyURL or reference to theapplication which it will be used for, unauthorized users face a new securitylayer after decoding theQuick Response (QR) code. The method comprises a computer, based ondetermining that a sessionof an application is awaiting entry of at least one item of data, activatingcontent capturingfunctionality resident on the computer. The method also comprises thecomputer, using thefunctionality, capturing an image from media physically separate from thecomputer. The methodalso comprises the computer extracting the at least one item of data from thecaptured image. Themethod also comprises the computer writing the at least one item of data to afield provided by theapplication.
