The control device (200) includes: a lighting system (202) for illuminating a peripheral face (of each foldable box, an imaging apparatus (204) to form a plural image of the peripheral face of a pack of foldable boxes, an image processing system (206) for: i) detecting in the plural image each peripheral end of the slots separating neighboring flaps, ii) generating a set of data representative of the geometry of each peripheral end , and iii) analyzing the data set to determine the width of each peripheral end.
