The application addresses the problem a user faces when providing information over the internet that such information may be used and distributed in a manner unknown and uncontrollable by the user. Therefore the user enters a community of trust relationship with a centralised privacy authority, which will then manage the controlled distribution of the user information. The method performed basically exists on the steps of provisioning a community of trust at a centralised privacy authority, provisioning a user thereto, exchanging encryption keys between the community and user, assigning an anonymised identification to the user, accepting commands from the user, and providing by the community of trust to service provides only anonymised identification and user agreed information.
