An electronic cigarette performance test apparatus and a test method. The electronic cigarette performance test apparatus comprises a sleeve (203) and a piston inserted in the sleeve (203). The piston and the sleeve (203) enclose to form a smog collecting cavity. The sleeve is also provided with an air inlet in communication with the smog collecting cavity. The air inlet is in communication with a mouthpiece of an electronic cigarette by means of an air inlet pipe (202). The piston is used for extracting air in the electronic cigarette to simulate a smoking action. An air inlet one-way valve is disposed in the air inlet. The electronic cigarette performance test apparatus also comprises a control module (205) and comprises a drive mechanism (204) and a negative-pressure detection instrument (207) both electrically connected to the control module (205). The drive mechanism (204) is used for driving the piston to move, so as to implement air extraction. The negative-pressure detection instrument (207) is used for sensing a negative-pressure value in the air inlet pipe (202). The control module (205) is used for controlling ON and OFF of the drive mechanism (204) and determining ventilation performance of the electronic cigarette according to the negative-pressure value.
