[Problem] To enable functional handling of a plant throughout all the steps of hydroponic cultivation. [Solution] This plant cultivation unit (1) using hydroponic cultivation has: a tube (21) of which the entirety is formed in an approximately tubular shape and that has an inner diameter open at both ends; a cultivation medium (3) comprising a gel material containing moisture and that fills the inner diameter of the tube (21); and a plant seed (4) for cultivation disposed in a manner so as to contact the cultivation medium (3). The tube (21), at the outer peripheral surface of a body section, has a first flange (22) and second flange (23) for assisting in the holding and transport of the plant cultivation unit (1) by means of an external apparatus.
