ABSORBABLE CONICAL DEVICE FOR TISSUE RECONSTRUCTION IN CASE OF STENOSIS OF THE RENAL PELVIS AND/OR STENOSIS OF THE URETEROPELVIC JUNCTION

A description is given of a resorbable self-supporting conical device (100) in fabric (1), preferably in PGA fabric, suitable to be used as an implant for use in tissue reconstruction of the renal pelvis and/or of the ureteropelvic junction following stenosis, neoplasms or other types of diseases that obstruct the urine flow, said device (100) having a convex larger base with a central hole in said convex base and a smaller base also provided with a central hole, said conical device (100) being further provided with one or more reinforcing rings (2) of different diameters, in a resorbable thermoformed polymeric material and attached integrally to said fabric (1), said device being shapeable, in situ during the surgical operation, to the shape of the excised area of the renal pelvis and/or ureteropelvic junction, by means of cuts along one or two cutting planes, so as to allow a tissue reconstruction in the original natural form, said device (100) being implantable without any surface coating of cultured cells of tissue and/or any surface treatment to promote the engraftment of the growing tissues of the renal pelvis and/or of the ureteropelvic junction.
