[Problem] To provide: a polarizable electrode for electric double layer capacitors, which can be easily produced, while being suppressed in the production cost; and the like.[Solution] An electric double layer capacitor (100) is provided with: a pair of polarizable electrodes (1) which are obtained by molding a mixture obtained by mixing a predetermined liquid with a powdery activated carbon that is produced by activating a powdery charcoal which is formed from wood and has particle diameters of 1 mm or less; a pair of collector electrodes (2), between which the pair of polarizable electrodes are inserted; a pair of connection terminals (3) which are electrically connected to the pair of collector electrodes, respectively; a separator (4) which is inserted between the pair of polarizable electrodes and insulates the pair of polarizable electrodes from each other; an electrolyte solution (5) which is impregnated into the pair of polarizable electrodes; and an outer package bag (6) which contains the pair of polarizable electrodes, the pair of collector electrodes, the separator and the electrolyte solution. An opening (61) of the outer package bag is hermetically sealed, while having a part of each one of the connection terminals exposed to the outside of the outer package bag.
