An associative memory device according to the present invention is provided with a plurality of index generation units, an output unit, and a control unit. The plurality of index generation units use a plurality of hash functions to generate feature values for input vectors, and generate indexes corresponding to the input vectors by retrieving registered information relating to registered vectors on the basis of the feature values. The plurality of index generation units generate first signals indicating whether an index is present as registered information, generate reproduction vectors, generate second signals indicating whether a reproduction vector matches an input vector, and supply the signals to the control unit. The output unit combines the output of each of the plurality of index generation units and outputs an index. The control unit controls the updating of the registered information.
