IMPROVEMENT TO A CNC MACHINE FOR CUTTING METAL PIPES

Improvement to a CNC machine for cutting metal pipes, comprising a rotary coupling (2) for the end of the worked pipe, constituted by a pipe retention device (3) associated with a rotary wheel with rack (4), driven by a motor (5) that provides the rotation of said pipe. The worked metal pipe is cut by a cutting tool (6) arranged on a moving head (7) on a moving portal (8) and moved transversely by a motorized spindle (9), the portal (8) being mounted on a track (10) on a base (11), a second, fixed portal (12), providing additional support for the pipe, also being mounted. Both the moving portal (8) and the fixed portal (12) are provided with a central opening (13), for the passage of the pipe, equipped with a self-centring frame (14) that automatically retains the pipe. The cutting tool (6) is fixed on the moving portal (8) by means of rapid coupling, constituted by a magnetic plate (17) at the base of the cutting tool (6), associated with magnetic plates (18) fixed on the portal (8), one on the front face (19) and the other on the rear face (20), such that the cutting tool (6) is able to be moved from the front face (19) to the rear face (20).
