The present invention patent relates to a method for thawing and refreezing cryopreserved semen, from previously frozen samples, from cattle, buffalo, dogs, goats, horses, sheep and pigs, pertaining to the field of biotechnology applied to animal breeding. The present invention provides a method for thawing and refreezing cryopreserved semen, from samples previously frozen in glass ampoules or even in 0.5 cc French straws, from cattle, buffalo, dogs, goats, horses, sheep and pigs, by means of seven main steps: 1 - thawing; 2 - laboratory analysis; 3 - centrifugation; 4 - dilution; 5 - cryopreservation; 6 - freezing; and 7 - storage.
