A standing action assistance system (1) for assisting the standing action of a care recipient, the assistance system being provided with: a caregiving belt (3) equipped with a holding mechanism (3g) with a holding section (3a) for holding the care recipient's back and both sides and a connecting section (3c) that is located on the chest and is to be connected to the holding mechanism on the front surface thereof; a rotating force-conferring mechanism (30) connected to the holding mechanism for rotating the lower front part of the holding section upwards and the upper back part of the holding section downwards with an axis passing through both sides as the rotation axis; a traction mechanism (4) for connecting to and pulling the connecting section; and a control unit (12) for controlling the rotating force-conferring mechanism and the traction mechanism so that after starting a pulling motion, the traction mechanism pulls the connecting section forward and upward while simultaneously rotating the holding section with the rotating force-conferring mechanism and then pulling the connecting section upward.
