Provided are a data processing method, a TCN standby gateway device and a data processing system. The data processing method of the present invention includes: monitoring, by a TCN standby gateway device, a life signal sent by a TCN main gateway device; and if it is judged that the life signal does not change within a pre-set time, carrying out conversion processing, by the TCN standby gateway device, on a received data stream according to a pre-stored MVB protocol and WTB protocol. Thus, it can be ensured that in the case where the TCN main gateway device fails or the TCN main gateway device stops working due to other situations, the TCN main gateway device is replaced by the TCN standby gateway device to carry out conversion processing on the received data stream, thereby guaranteeing the communication between a WTB device and an MVB device on a train, and ensuring the normal running of the train.
