The invention relates to a method and system for a modular building, combining simple and quick construction with a precise fit between the components thereof, without requiring coupling elements, and comprising at least one built module, which allows a reduction in the time required for assembly and erecting buildings in situ. The system comprises a plurality of base pillars, a plurality of lower and upper beams, and a plurality of pillars that each have a cross-shaped profile. The upper and lower beams have a rectangular cut in the ends of said beams, in one of the side arms of said cross-shaped profile, such that the parts fit together with precision. The system also comprises at least one structural panel.
