The subject of the invention is a forming press (1) for forming a sheet-like blank (26) composed of metal with at least two thermally insulated frame parts (6, 7) that are movable towards one another, wherein the one, first frame part (6) has a die (8) with a negative engraving (10), and wherein the other, second frame part (7) has a punch (12) that is movable in a chamber (16) of this frame part, wherein the sheet-like blank (26) rests in a sealing manner on the second frame part (7) that receives the punch (12), above the punch (12), so as to form a pressure chamber (24) with the punch (12), wherein the pressure chamber (24) is able to be subjected to a pressurized gas from a pressure generator (30).
