SYSTEM FOR THE DETECTION AND NOTIFICATION OF COLIC IN HORSES

The system is complementary to the horse management system, adding an animal supervision functionality thereto, using video surveillance cameras and sensors such as temperature, sound and environmental sensors, with the aim of quick detection and even prevention of the classic colics often suffered by horses and which are sometimes the cause of death of same. To this end, the system generates a temporary profile (7) of the horse from the back data recorded, which is compared with a current profile (8) created on the basis of the current data, and the environmental conditions, in order to make an assessment on the basis of a threshold value pre-established by means of a statistical algorithm, to determine the risk of colic for the horse, and to generate the corresponding notification alarm.
