This method for manufacturing a steel sheet for a bottle cap has a heating step for heating a slab containing a predetermined chemical composition, a hot rolling step for obtaining a hot-rolled steel sheet by hot rolling and winding the slab after the heating step, a pickling step for pickling the hot-rolled steel sheet after the hot rolling step, a cold rolling step for obtaining a cold-rolled steel sheet by cold rolling the hot-rolled steel sheet after the pickling step, an annealing step for annealing the cold-rolled steel sheet after the cold rolling step at an annealing temperature T (°C), and a secondary cold rolling step for performing secondary cold rolling of the cold-rolled steel sheet after the annealing step using a two-stand cold rolling mill in which the inter-stand tension t (MPa) and the annealing temperature T are set so as to satisfy the expression 350 ≤ 0.067 × ln(t) × T × (-0.23 × ln(C) + 0.25). In the above expression, C is the C content in wt%.
