Disclosed are a point-to-multipoint communication method based on a 3D-mesh network and a communication node, wherein the method comprises: a communication node dividing all nodes in the 3D-mesh network where the communication node is located into at least two layers according to a coordinate value on a first dimension in an established three-dimensional coordinate system; judging whether the 3D-mesh network contains a first destination node, wherein the first destination node is a destination node located on a layer different from that the communication node is located; and if the 3D-mesh network contains the first destination node, transmitting data to be transmitted to an adjacent node connected to a first designated port via the first designated port of the communication node, so that the data to be transmitted is transmitted to the first destination node via the adjacent node connected to the first designated port, wherein the adjacent node connected to the first designated port is located in a positive direction or a negative direction of the first dimension relative to the communication node. By using the embodiments of the present invention, the number of inter-layer communications in the process of point-to-multipoint communication of the 3D-mesh network can be reduced, and the communication efficiency is improved.
